HISTORY
The beginning of the Clans...
Banished from his home in ThunderClan for a crime he didn’t commit, Stagfur ran from the lake to escape his past. Unknown to him, StarClan had big plans for him—he would be the one to start the new clans. He met the badger Midnight, who sent him in the direction of his new home; an area where clans could thrive, but where cats were cold and distant.
Stagfur met with cats of all kinds, and he told them of his old home. Some cats began to follow him, and they settled in the forest in the area. Stagfur told them of the Warrior Code, and of the ancient stories—even of StarClan. Stagfur was seen as the wisest cat in the area by many others, and his group became large.
Stagfur’s group became so large that there was discontent in his ranks—specifically with two cats named Spider and Foggy. These two wanted to be Stagfur’s second in command, and they constantly argued with each other over who would make a better leader. Some cats picked sides—either siding with Foggy or Spider. In the end, Stagfur chose neither of them to be his second in command. Foggy and Spider left, each with their small group of likeminded followers. Spider settled in the eastern side of the forest, and Foggy settled by the creek.
There were suddenly three groups of cats, settling their territories and chasing away intruders that didn’t wish to join them. A young cat named Morning came into the area, and decided he didn’t fit in either group… but knew that a group would be the safest way to live in the harsh area. He took the cats that were considered too weak, and took over the hills. Some cats from the other groups left to join Morning’s new group.
Each group had strengths and weaknesses. Stagfur’s group became known as the most balanced and loyal group, though they were also loud and reckless. Foggy’s group was adaptable and efficient, though also vindictive and overzealous. Spider’s group was hardworking and dedicated, but very intolerant and hostile. Morning’s group was alert and practical, but overly cautious and unorganized. The groups were all very different, and they often had squabbles. Some fights turned dangerous, even deadly.
The leaders had a long talk at the dead tree between their territories, and during their meeting, some of the departed cats came down to speak to them. They said it was their destiny to become new clans, and that StarClan was with them. They returned to their groups, and officially renamed them—StagClan, FogClan, SpiderClan, and MorningClan. They would follow the code, coexist, and live for their clans.
Four cats received visions of a place that shone as bright as the moon. Stagfur had told them of a place that certain cats went to visit with StarClan, and they all believed that this was their meeting place for StarClan. The four cats, Foxbelly of StagClan, Bird of FogClan, Rat of SpiderClan, and Clancy of MorningClan, went with their leaders to a small cavern—it had water, and the center clearing moonlight shone on the smooth floor, and it appeared as if a piece of the moon had come down. The cats learned resting in this place caused them to see StarClan. They called it the Moon’s Rest.
The cats, united under leaders and by StarClan, found loyalty and heart. They laid down their lives for their clans, and they did it with pride; their descendants still do, to this day.

The Heart of the Woods...
It was a StagClan cat named Juniperfur who found the Heart of the Woods.
The cat realized that prey ran plentiful in this clearing, and the area had an aura that made them feel at home. They rushed back to camp, and led a small patrol to the area, and the cats began to hunt, collecting enough prey to feed the clan for almost three days.
They weren’t alone however—a SpiderClan cat was observing them catching prey. Embertail rushed to camp, and told her clan of a place, unmarked, that was full of prey. The leader, Volestar, sent a patrol to mark the territory right away. StagClan, outraged, argued with the SpiderClan cats that they had found the area first, but SpiderClan rebutted that StagClan hadn’t marked the area.
Juniperfur and Embertail, the cats who led the patrols, argued back and forth with each other, before one cat jumped at the other. No one knows who attacked first—the story changes depending on whether StagClan or SpiderClan tells it—but the attack sent the patrols into a frenzy. Blood was shed on that fateful day, and no one is quite sure who won the fight… because the fight for the Heart of the Woods is still going strong.

STORIES
The Three Trouts...
Fogclan suffered a tragedy that has now evolved into an old nursery tale. It is ultimately unknown how much of this tale is true...
Three young, curious kits had ventured out of camp and strayed too close to the river nearby. It was the rainy season, and the banks of the river had swelled to twice their normal size. The three kits played and romped in the shallows, underneath the moonlit sky. However, their fun was short-lived, as the youngest of the kits fell into the rushing torrents downstream, and was swept away. In the next heartbeat, his siblings were swept up in the same way. The kits wailed desperately, but the thunderous river drowned their cries.
The next morning, very early, they were found along the bank by a search party. Their mother was grief-stricken and beside herself at the loss of her children, so she cried out to Starclan in her anguish. "Starclan! Why have you let this happen?" she wailed as her claws tore at the earth. "You've taken my kits from me!" She cursed and spat at the ancestors in her grief.
She wailed so loudly that the stars shook with her cries, and her ancestors looked down upon her with pity. One old queen, from moons ago, came to the mourning she-cat with an offer to ease her suffering. "I cannot bring back your kits as you knew them," the starry cat explained. "But I can bring them back as another life, perhaps..." The Starclan queen waved a starry paw over the river, causing its rushing waves to suddenly calm. The bodies of the three kits faded into stardust and gathered, hovering, over the water.
Suddenly the stardust sprang into the shapes of three large fish. "These kits died playing, and that is how they shall live once again." Declared the Starclan cat. She waved her tail, and the three trout leaped into the air and splashes down into the water, romping and resuming their play at once. From then on, tales have been woven of the second chance the kits got because of their innocent spirits. It has since been a good omen to see three trout leap out of the water side-by-side. Though, queens are still careful to warn their little ones away from the river, lest they suffer the same fate...
