NOTE: These are stereotypical traits. Your cat does not have to fit this mold, but keep in mind cats from other clans will assume your cat is like this.
Appearances
StagClan cats tend to be stocky cats, with smaller ears and rounder eyes. They're commonly brown tabbies or tortoiseshells. FogClan cats are rather large, with bigger paws and thicker pelts. Their furs are mostly grays and browns. SpiderClan cats are sleek and look more delicate, but have sharper teeth and claws, and longer tails. They don't have a preference in color. MorningClan has the most varied, as they typically accept anyone who can hunt well, and don't have much preference.
NOTE: Your cats do not have to fit this description perfectly; but try to make sure your cats at least fit in!
(If you decide to pick a certain breed for your cat, try:
StagClan: British Shorthair, Siberian
FogClan: Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat
SpiderClan: Oriental Shorthair, Abyssinian
MorningClan: Any.)

Prey
All the clans feast on mice and birds, as those are the easiest forms of prey to find. StagClan and FogClan both hunt fish from the river, with the latter doing it more often. FogClan and MorningClan also have rabbits in their territory. FogClan cats can also find frogs in their fresh kill pile often.
Differences
While all clans follow a similar structure, each one does something unique that sets them apart from others. More to be added/discovered.
-StagClan, at dawn, will wake its apprentices and do quick exercises to keep them on their toes.
-StagClan has the shortest training time for apprentices. -Foxes are bad omens; they either bring war, famine, or natural disasters. -They are known to take in loner queens close to bearing, or with, kits, bypassing the "wait one moon" rule. They have been known to take in cats banished from SpiderClan and FogClan. -SpiderClan warriors train for combat each evening.
-SpiderClan will not accept kittypets. -Unlike other clans, doves are not hunted in SpiderClan. They are seen as a symbol of peace; if a cat from a different clan is seen killing a dove, it is seen as a bad omen of war. If a cat in SpiderClan kills a dove, it's a sign of internal conflict. -Cats who bear kits with a cat of an enemy clan are cast out, along with the kits. |
-FogClan's cats stop what they're doing at sunset, and solemnly thank StarClan for bringing them to their territory.
-FogClan has the longest training time for apprentices. -FogClan harshly punishes medicine cats who take a mate and bear kits. While SpiderClan and StagClan simply strip rank, FogClan banishes the cat and kits. -While they accept kittypets, they're often much stricter with them; not treating them as clan cats until they've proven themselves. -It is seen as a good omen to witness three trouts leaping out of the water side-by-side. -MorningClan has a time of relaxation and socialization every day, when the sun is high.
-While other clans accept outsiders, MorningClan is the most accepting of loners, rogues, and kittypets. -Medicine cats are allowed mates and kits, but if their family gets in the way of their duties, they are not allowed to be a medicine cat. -Sometimes, rarely, they'll let kits out of the camp to get used to the territory, but they must be supervised. |
